STEM Clubs Technicians

An exciting STEM and careers awareness programme that combines practical activities linked to real world context of technical roles.

STEM Clubs Technicians

STEM Clubs Technicians is a high-impact STEM careers programme designed to inspire UK young people by showcasing the wide range of technical careers available in STEM.

Through practical, hands-on activities and direct connections with real technicians, the programme helps students link classroom learning to real-world technical roles.

It features 6 technicians from diverse industries, supported by case studies, employability skills resources, and career information—raising awareness of exciting opportunities young people can aspire to.

Alongside, the programme includes 6 fun hands-on STEM activities aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks. Each activity includes instruction sheets, templates, and examples to develop enjoyment, skills, and knowledge.

Delivery: Teachers and STEM club leaders deliver the programme content, and are provided with extensive guidance to deliver activities flexibly. Schools choose how to deliver the 6 activities, this can be through curricular lessons, STEM Club, part of the school careers plan, as off timetable enrichment days etc.

Support: Educators receive digital resources, a bursary, and a 1-hour webinar training to share best practice for confident, effective delivery.

Curriculum: All activities identify curriculum content and development of essential, STEM and digital skills.

Timeline: The programme runs from November 2025 to July 2026. Schools can start delivery of the activities at any time during this time frame. Registration closes at 4pm on 28 February 2026.

Bursary: Participating schools can receive a bursary which supports attending the webinar-based training and cost of materials for the activities. Operating on a sliding scale of between £275 and £450 depending on the number of participating students: e.g. £275 for 15-25 students; £450 for 200+ students.

“The information linking to the activities worked well and was clearly laid out with minimum work for the teacher. The guide and information relating to the activities was really clear.”
- Teacher

“These activities gave me real-life insight into the different careers in STEM, even the salaries which I really like as stuff like this isn't really mentioned in science lessons.”
- Student
