Geography and engineering careers

Geography has lots of cross-over with STEM subjects! We’ve brought together Neon experiences and careers resources to help you put the geography curriculum into a real-life context, and inspire your class with geography and engineering careers.

Geography and engineering careers

This collection is for KS2 and KS3 geography teachers, to help you show your students how the themes and topics they learn in geography could lead to a career in engineering. The collection below focuses on sustainability, including activities that showcase vertical farming, green energy and more.

Discover inspiring case studies of engineers who work in a range of jobs relevant to geography. These include Ifeoma, a soil scientist at UNDO, a company working to remove carbon from the atmosphere with the help of enhanced rock weathering; and Drew who works in developing countries, helping generate local electricity, creating access to clean water, developing basic transport and more.

Thank you to Adam O'Connor and the Geography leaders at Harris Academy for their advice in putting this collection together.
