Workshop
A 1 day, zero-prep workshop where up to 96 pupils design, test & race radio-controlled cars, boosting GCSE skills and career confidence
RC Vision’s Hands-On RC Racing STEM Workshop turns your sports hall into a motorsport lab for a day. Up to 96 students rotate through driving, racing and learning, guided by a professional engineer so every learner meets real-world role models from the industry they could join.
Learners start at the Track Lab, logging lap times and exploring the physics of car racing. They explore gearing, electronics and aerodynamics, discovering how the engineering habits of mind inform and drive motorsport. Finally, teams work with classmates, practising communication and reflection while mapping their skills to careers of the future from renewable-energy engineer to AI ops technician.
The day is zero-prep for teachers: RC Vision supplies cars, laptops, timing kit, £10m insurance, DBS staff and a ready-to-print risk assessment. All activities are SEND-adaptable to ensure every learner can participate. Pre-workshop questionnaires let us tailor pacing; a post-session survey captures uplift in STEM interest, and learning outcomes.
Cost: Standard cost for a full day workshop is £850. It is available UK-wide, with additional travel expenses charged for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Bursaries: Thanks to corporate partners in the rail & automotive sectors, RC Vision can fully fund a limited number of workshops each term. Schools located within the London Paddington, Oxford or Bristol travel-to-work areas are especially encouraged to enquire — just email [email protected] or mention “Bursary Request” when booking and they will confirm availability.
