Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing our lives and how we use computers to solve problems. These highly interactive and entertaining workshops demystify AI and encourage critical thinking over its use. All the content emphasises the vital role which humans have to play in the ongoing development and use of AI.

Each 90 minute session is packed full of hands-on activities for students which allow them to explore, understand and evaluate AI systems in a safe, offline and age-appropriate environment. The provider will tailor each workshop from a wide choice of modules such as:

  • Training your own image recognition system using Machine Learning, testing and comparing its accuracy with other teams.
  • Detecting and explaining bias and errors in the outputs from AI Generated images, videos and chatbot responses.
  • Explore a conceptual model of how Large Language Models work, to understand their limitations
Case study of Live Facial Recognition systems used by police. Exploring how their performance is measured and the parameters which operators can adjust. Learn how bias in early systems was detected and is now being reduced.
  • Exploring ethical issues raised by real world applications of AI and the challenge of aligning AI's behaviour with human values

These unique workshops require no prior knowledge or coding, all equipment is provided and the activities are ideal for SEND students. Each session is typically for 30-40 students, working in teams, although up to 60 students can be accommodated.

Cost

£450 for a half-day visit (typically 1 or 2 workshops) or £650 for a full-day visit (typically 3 or 4 workshops). Price includes travel within London M25 and all equipment.
