Project
The Glider Challenge is a free project where students get to design, build and fly their designs.
The RAF Museum are proud to host the KS2 Glider Challenge 2022. This year, they are hosting 2 events – a challenge onsite at the Museum and an online virtual challenge for those schools that cannot travel.
Sponsored by the RAF Youth and STEM Team, they are inviting schools to enter teams into either event.
All schools involved are sent a FREE resource pack which includes a 4-week lesson plan to be covered in lessons prior to the event – this lesson plan can be adapted in any which way to suit your school needs.
The competition will include a research and design element, as well as a poster and presentation pitch which outlines why the team has chosen their glider design and why they think it should win. Prizes will be awarded across both events for the winners of each category.
Students that successfully complete all elements of the challenge will also receive a British Science Association CREST Discovery Award!
