Inspire Engineering Day at the Museum Depot

London Transport Museum's Inspire Engineering programme offers authentic, engaging and real-world engagements with engineering to inspire your KS3 students.

Inspire Engineering Day at the Museum Depot

Inspire Engineering is part of London Transport Museum's Enjoyment to Employment Programme. Let their skilled facilitators inspire your pupils with enquiry-based activities, stories from practising engineers, and a tour of their iconic collection.

Taking place at their Museum Depot in Ealing, the Inspire Engineering sessions introduce students to real-world engineering concepts and engineers from Siemens Mobility, telent and Transport for London.

These interactive and experiential sessions are an opportunity for secondary school students to get curious about careers in engineering and transport.

The Key Stage 3 Inspire Engineering Day at the Museum Depot includes:

  • Interviews with inspiring engineers
  • Participation in their interactive ‘Sustainable Cities’ challenge
  • Exploration of the engineering wonders at the London Transport Museum Depot
  • A Discovery CREST Award for each student attending

Since 2011, more than 6,800 pupils and teachers have taken part, with 90% of students who took part in 2019-20 reporting they left with a positive view of engineering (an increase from 68% who had a positive view before the session).

Dates and location

From 14 to 18 March 2022, Inspire Engineering sessions are available for Key Stage 3 students in person at the Museum Depot in Ealing, London.

They also offer a virtual 2-hour experience for students who can’t visit on site.

Cost

The Inspire Engineering Day at the Museum Depot fee is £150 for up to 30 students attending.
