Innovate Challenge

Want your students to take part in an exciting challenge developing an innovation for TfL, developing their skills and confidence? Sign up to Innovate!

Innovate Challenge

Innovate is a unique opportunity for students in Year 12 and 13 to develop their employability skills, create exciting innovations for TfL and win work experience within TfL.

The aim of the challenge is to encourage development of the skills that employers look for whilst increasing their insight into innovation and careers paths, in particular transport and STEM careers.

Innovate requires students to work in teams of 4-6 and ask students to identify a problem that is linked to TfL and find a solution to that problem.

Teams must produce:

  • A 5-minute filmed presentation
  • A design concept

TfL will:

  • Attend a launch session at your school
  • Provide resources, including teacher guide and student handbook
  • Arrange for a TFL staff to mentor the teams during the process (depending on availability)

Logistics

Minimum 6 participants, maximum 30.

Schools should register by mid-October to have enough time to do the challenge and submit entries on 19 January 2024.
