FunSTEM introduces primary school children aged 9 to 12 to the fundamentals of STEM, by showing STEM-based learning as an exciting and enjoyable experience. FunSTEM aims to prevent negative perceptions of STEM and lack of self-confidence in students before these issues arise, by fostering an image of STEM as an activity that everyone can enjoy equally, whoever they are and whatever their level of ability.
Minimum of 80 participants, maximum of 200 participants.
The cost is £25 per student. The course is usually sponsored by a company, but there is the option for schools to pay using pupil equity funding if they choose.
Dates and Location
FunSTEM takes place in schools across Scotland.
The course lasts 4 weeks. During this period schools are free to be flexible in how they structure their time. EDT recommends that FunSTEM should take no longer than 10 hours to complete.
