TeenTech City of Tomorrow challenges young people to design the 'safer, smarter, kinder' city of the future.

TeenTech City of Tomorrow

This versatile and powerful project engages students of all abilities and brings the world of science, technology and engineering to life. They create a future city where no ideas are too big, everything is smarter, kinder and safer and it promotes good citizenship.

Teachers frequently remark on how students who normally are reserved or disruptive are engaged by the approach offered. The programme shines a light on the 'invisible' careers of the future and shows young people how they can help build the world they want to live in.

During Covid-19 we are offering live online sessions twice weekly to support the project for students working from home or in school. Teachers and parents are provided with support resources and can choose how to run this flexible project.

Capacity

Minimum of 3 participants, maximum of 200 participants.

Dates and Location

When this programme is run in schools, we recommend that students work in teams of 5 on their projects as they can work together whilst taking on different roles.

During Covid 19 we are delivering this programme online with live sessions delivered by our experienced team, ensuring students at home have access to fun, engaging and valuable experiences. We encourage them to work virtually with their project teams.

Duration

Teachers are provided with comprehensive resources enabling them to lead the project over a day, a week or a term. While schools are opening differently we are offering live 1 hour sessions every week so that students can also run the project at home.

Every school who participates can select a project to go forward to the regional showcases and to the national showcase in June. We also run international showcases for this project. In June 2020 the international showcase will be an engaging, interactive virtual event due to Covid 19.
