Workshop

Capacitor cars

What will power the cars of the future? Design and construct an electric car and test how far it will travel off one charge.

Capacitor cars

This workshop explores the future of transport, in particular electric vehicles, over a full day.

Working in teams, students will learn how to construct an electronic circuit that will be used to power their car.

When designing their car, students must consider the shape, material choices and structure.

The activity encourages students to use a wide range of skills and consolidates knowledge in the KS2 or KS3 Science and D&T curriculums. The workshop is differentiated to suit the age range/ability.

STEMworks will provide all materials for the workshop.
