VEX GO Challenge

A classroom-based competition for primary schools that brings STEM to life!

VEX GO Challenge

The REC Foundation VEX GO Challenge is a classroom-based competition that provides primary students with the opportunity to showcase their leaming through participation in hands-on activities. This unique STEM and robotics challenge provides curriculum and teacher resources linked to the National Curriculum and Benchmarks for Excellence which engage students in engineering and science concepts.

Students complete the activities as part of their normal curriculum or extracurricular clubs and upload evidence to the challenge website. Points are earned for each activity that is successfully completed and additional levels of challenges can be unlocked as teams earn more points.

Capacity

2 to 3 students per team. There is no limit on the number of teams a school may register.

Cost

Registration and participation is free, but all teams participating in the VEX GO Challenge will need access to a VEX GO kit. Each kit can be used by multiple teams at different times if required, allowing more students to take part.

Duration

The challenge season runs all year round. Teams can participate in as many activities as they wish during this time and activities can be integrated into the curriculum as part of STEM subject lessons or run as an extracurricular activity. There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions that teams can participate in and this can be led by the teacher. Some groups may like to let teams complete as many tasks as possible in all levels, others may choose to get more students participating and completing a single level.
