Workshop
A workshop day to explore the careers linked to the Structural Engineering industry.
Tower Tournament takes inspiration from the work of structural engineers, by challenging teams to produce the tallest tower capable of withstanding ‘hurricane winds’.
Teams work competitively to build their towers against the clock, with a limited budget of tokens for the purchase of craft materials. Towers are then tested using a fan.
The session concludes with a reflective class discussion on tower performance and consideration of the science behind this.
