STEMettes Easter Explore

Join us for the Easter half-term for free sessions exploring STEM careers, advice and opportunities.

The theme will be preparation and focus.

We’ll be bringing together young women, nonbinary young people and folks from across STEM academia, industry and entrepreneurship.

Join one of our 3 streams:

  • Junior: For 7 to 11-year-olds, to learn something new and try hands-on STEM activities whilst meeting STEM role models.
  • Connect: For 12 to 15-year-olds, wanting to work on a STEM project in a team and/or learn from role models and take part in networking.
  • Academy: For 16 to 20-year-olds, wanting to work towards a Python/Cyber certification and take part in networking.

Capacity

Maximum of 20 participants per session. 

Duration

  • 3 weeks total, students can join for as many weeks as they like
  • There is 1 day of onboarding and 4 days of sessions
  • Juniors are 1 hour a day
  • Connect is 2.5 hours a day with an optional hour
  • Academy is 2.5 hours a day with an optional hour

Learning outcomes

  • Improve engagement, interest or enjoyment in STEM subjects

  • Improve attainment and progress in STEM subjects

  • Develop engineering employability skills

  • Improve awareness and aspirations for STEM-related study and careers

  • Challenge stereotypes by showing the diversity of disciplines, people and skills involved in engineering
