Trip
Students gain first-hand experience of life at college, university and within a company.
Routes into STEM is an innovative 3-day course that provides young people in year 9 and 10 or S2 and S3 an amazing chance to compare college, university and apprenticeship pathways into STE(A)M careers.
During the experience, higher education institutes showcase STEM courses, apprenticeships, degrees and careers, giving students the opportunity to make informed decisions about their future career.
Capacity
Minimum of 20 participants, maximum of 30 participants.
Cost
£140 to be paid by the students. Funding may be available.
Dates and Location
Visits take place during February, May and October half term. There are conformed locations in:
Hertfordshire, London, Kent, Cambridge, Reading, Plymouth, Telford, Southampton, Northampton, Bedfordshire, Coventry
Duration
1 day at each location. 3 days in total to complete the course. Each activity session ranges from 1 to 1.5 hours with various hands-on activities, as well as networking sessions with employers and role models within STEM.
