Introduction to Coding & Next Steps in Coding

An introduction to the fascinating world of robotics and coding.

Introduction to Coding & Next Steps in Coding

Our 'Introduction to coding’ workshop introduces students in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 to the fascinating world of robotics, and highlights the many everyday devices that are computer-controlled. Working in groups of 2 or 3, students begin by constructing an animal robot, and through an intuitive drag and drop app installed on a tablet, program their robot to complete a series of tasks. Problem solving, communication, and team work are skills pupils will develop, along with as resilience.

If pupils already have knowledge of coding, our ‘Next steps in coding’ workshop may be more suitable. This session explores more advanced coding concepts using a block-base, open-ended visual programming language. Pupils will learn various commands and write complex code to complete a set of challenges. This workshop is suitable for Reception to Year 4 (4 to 8 years).

STEMworks provide all the resources required for each workshop.
