Launch STEM careers through competition... Let your students find their calling with the F1 in Schools STEM Challenge!
F1 in Schools offers all students between 11 to 19 the chance to work in a close-knit team, where everyone takes on a role to suit their skills. Teams are challenged to create and race their vision of the F1 car of the future, to our official Technical Regulations, set out by a rule committee led by legendary F1 engineer Gary Anderson. Researching, planning, managing, designing, marketing, manufacturing and promoting themselves, they work together to compete against other students in the region online!
Competition judging takes place using official competition scorecards across 5 main disciplines: Marketing judging, Verbal Presentation, Engineering Judging, Vehicle Scrutineering and crucially, Racing.
Winning teams are those who show a range of skills across all areas and achieve the highest overall score. Judged by F1 team personnel, industry experts, past competitors and STEM ambassadors, the process is thorough and constructive, giving invaluable personal feedback to those competing.
Our ultimate aim is to give students a platform to discover what really makes them tick, helping them uncover a pathway to their dream job while making memories throughout their time with F1 in Schools.
Minimum of 3 participants, maximum of 6 participants per team. F1 in Schools participants come from schools and college in all corners of the UK.
Registration into the competition is free for Primary and Entry Class teams, with Development and Professional Class teams paying a small registration fee of £75.
Teams will submit their work digitally in March, before judging and racing is done by the F1 in Schools team. Regional Finals will be broadcasted as standalone shows, to be released live on our YouTube channel in April. There will also be a National Final in 2021, this will be either remote or a physical event if possible.
